The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act requires financial institutions to “develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive written Information Security Program containing administrative, technical, and physical safeguards that are appropriate to the size and complexity of the entity, the nature and scope of its activities, and the sensitivity of any customer information at issue.” Regulators require banks to have a documented information security program (ISP).
