What is it?
SBS is offering a low-cost Pandemic Preparedness Toolkit that will allow financial institutions to quickly implement a pandemic flu program. With the recent outbreak of the H1N1 flu (aka Swine Flu), attention has again been brought to the question of “What will our institution do if we are hit by a pandemic flu?” This toolkit will assist in preparing for a possible pandemic outbreak and meeting the regulatory requirements.
What's Included?
Pandemic Preparedness Roadmap: A guide that outlines the ordered steps which need to be taken when developing an effective pandemic preparedness program. The roadmap starts with establishing a policy, and ends with testing. If you are trying to figure out where to start in developing your pandemic preparedness plan, this roadmap will show you the way.
Pandemic Preparedness Policy Template: A three-page policy template which documents the institution’s understanding and handling of a potential pandemic. Each institution will have the ability to adjust the policy to meet their individual needs. This policy is the first stop on the Pandemic Preparedness Roadmap and will be a key piece in establishing an effective plan.
Third Party Management Questionnaire: If a pandemic occurs, your third party vendors will be affected along with your financial institution. It is important to understand how your third party vendors will respond to a pandemic, and if you need to develop an alternative solution, should they opt to close for a period of time. SBS will provide you with this question set to give to your third party vendors.
Pandemic Awareness Training Material: One of the most important aspects of being prepared to handle a pandemic in your institution is making sure employees understand what is happening and what they can do to protect themselves. SBS will include a short video to show your employees as part of any regular employee training that your institution may conduct.
Pandemic Preparedness Checklist: When preparing your pandemic flu plan there are several items you will want to be informed of and include. SBS will include a pandemic preparedness checklist as part of the toolkit, which will allow your financial institution to structure a thorough pandemic flu plan. The checklist will act as an outline to the plan and ensure that your plan has all the essentials in it.
